| A Special Invitation.... This past August, the E.L.C.A. met in Minneapolis, Minnesota for its Annual Churchwide Assembly. The decisions made at that Assembly dealt with the Statement on Human Sexuality, as well as practicing homosexuals being ordained into the church and the blessing of same-sex unions. The recommendations passed by a narrow margin and many faithful Lutherans recognize that they have been betrayed by the larger church. Some are struggling with what to do next. Many are leaving, or are considering leaving their own home ELCA congregations. Congregations are also exiting the ELCA to join LCMC (Lutherans In Mission for Christ) and other Lutheran bodies. If this is where you are, we at Trinity want you to know that you have a church home with us. We invite and welcome you with open arms to join us as we are a congregation that teaches the theology of Martin Luther, we still believe in sola scriptura (scripture alone - faith alone - grace alone) and we still believe that God's Word is the rule and guide for all of life and faith. We strongly disagree with the decisions of the recent ELCA Assembly and are in agreement with recent conventions of Lutheran CORE (Lutheran Coalition for Renewal) and the WordAlone movements. So do not be worried or anxious! Come to Trinity where you can worship and be in ministry with other brothers and sisters who strive to adhere to God's Word and believe in its unchangeable authority.
